Terms of Use
Kreis & Quer Family Planner · Web, iOS and Android
Effective: September 16, 2026
The most important points first
Kreis & Quer is currently a free family planner in its testing and launch phase. It helps organize everyday family life, but is not an emergency, tracking, security, medical, financial-advice, or archival service. Please keep additional copies of particularly important information.
1. Provider and scope
These Terms of Use apply to the “Kreis & Quer Family Planner” website, web app, iOS app, and Android app.
The provider and contracting party is Christian Kruse, Werrastr. 2, 12059 Berlin, Germany, email: webmaster@kreisundquer.de, phone: +49 155 692 828 24. Additional contact details, including WhatsApp, are available in the legal notice.
Different user terms apply only if expressly accepted by the provider.
2. Scope of service
Kreis & Quer provides features for shared family organization, including calendars, tasks, shopping lists, budgets and fixed costs, meal planning, family recipes, family chat, birthdays, the pinboard, documents, family profiles, school schedules, family locations, weather information, and notifications.
Available features may vary by platform, device, operating system, family role, permissions, and testing phase. There is no entitlement to a particular optional feature unless it has expressly been agreed as part of the service owed.
3. Registration and contract formation
The user agreement is formed when a user submits the completed registration form, accepts these Terms, and the provider accepts the registration by making the account available or confirming it. Email confirmation may be required.
Registration information must be correct and current. Each person should maintain only one personal account. Login details must not be shared with unauthorized third parties.
4. Minors and child profiles
Minors may use their own account only with the consent of their legal representatives. A minor who registers or takes over an account confirms that the required consent has been obtained.
Parents and other legal guardians may create managed child profiles without separate device access. They are responsible for having authority to enter and share the child's data. Conversion to a separate account requires all necessary consents.
5. Families, roles, and permissions
Users may join families, invite people, and share content according to their role. Anyone managing invitations, roles, or permissions must be authorized to do so.
Shared content may be visible and editable by authorized family members. Child profiles see only age-appropriate, permitted areas. Budget and administration data is not intended for children. Grandparents and relatives see only shared modules; private content from other households remains separate.
Before sharing sensitive information, users must check which family members will receive access. The provider cannot prevent every incorrect permission granted by a user.
6. User content and responsibility
Users retain their rights to submitted content. For the duration and purpose of the agreement, they grant the provider the non-exclusive rights technically necessary to store, process, transmit, display, and—where selected—share content with authorized family members.
Users may submit, store, or share only content they are entitled to use. Illegal, offensive, discriminatory, violent, pornographic, harmful, rights-infringing content, malware, automated attacks, and abusive access are prohibited.
Where there are specific indications of an infringement, the provider may temporarily block or remove affected content. Where possible and lawful, the affected person will be informed and may respond.
7. Documents, events, reminders, and budget data
Kreis & Quer is not a legally compliant archival service. Users must additionally back up important original documents and data. Calendar events, birthdays, tasks, and notifications may be delayed or absent because of device settings, missing permissions, network problems, or third-party services.
Budget and fixed-cost features are for personal overview only. Calculations and reminders do not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. Users must independently verify amounts, due dates, and results.
8. Location and weather features
Location features are optional and require permission on each device. They support family organization and are not an emergency, surveillance, or security service. They must not be the sole basis for safety or location decisions.
Location status, arrival notifications, and weather information may be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable due to device settings, power-saving features, inaccurate position data, missing internet access, or third-party services. Location sharing can be disabled in the app or system settings.
9. Costs and testing phase
Current use is free. There is no entitlement to all present or future features remaining free permanently.
Paid services, subscriptions, or in-app purchases arise only after a separate, clearly identified order and express acceptance of price and duration. Accepting these Terms does not create a paid subscription.
Test versions may contain errors. Users are asked to report problems and feedback without confidential information. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
10. App stores and third-party services
Native apps may be installed and updated through the Apple App Store, TestFlight, or Google Play. The respective provider's terms additionally apply. Hosting, push, weather, and system services provided by third parties may affect individual features.
These Terms do not restrict any mandatory rights users have against Apple, Google, or other providers.
11. Availability, maintenance, and updates
The provider aims to operate the service securely and with minimal interruption. Continuous and completely error-free availability cannot be guaranteed. Temporary restrictions may result from maintenance, security measures, force majeure, network outages, or platform disruptions.
Necessary updates, including security updates, are provided to the extent required by law. Users must install available app and operating-system updates within a reasonable time and follow the related instructions.
12. Development and changes to the service
The provider may develop the service further for a valid reason where this does not cause additional costs. Valid reasons include technical development, security, changes in law or platform rules, prevention of misuse, and improvement or replacement of features.
Changes will be communicated clearly. If a change materially impairs access or usability, information will be provided on a durable medium within a reasonable advance period. Statutory termination rights remain unaffected.
13. Duration, termination, and account deletion
The agreement runs indefinitely. Users may terminate it at any time without notice by permanently deleting the account in the app or web profile or by clearly notifying the provider.
The provider may discontinue free use with reasonable notice if the service is discontinued or materially redesigned. Termination for good cause remains possible, including serious or repeated misuse, significant danger to others, or continued violations after warning; urgent cases may require immediate suspension.
After termination, personal data is deleted in accordance with the privacy policy and legal obligations. Shared family content may remain available to remaining family members where legally permitted. Mandatory statutory rights to receive a user's own content remain unaffected.
14. Warranty and liability
Statutory warranty rights for digital products and services apply.
The provider has unlimited liability for intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, under product-liability law, and in all other cases of mandatory statutory liability.
For slight negligence involving an essential contractual duty, liability is limited to typical, foreseeable damage. Essential duties are those necessary for proper performance and on which users may regularly rely. Liability for other slight negligence is excluded. These limitations also apply to legal representatives and agents.
Contributory negligence and users' statutory duties, including appropriate backup of important data, remain unaffected.
15. Privacy
Information about personal-data processing, family permissions, location data, push notifications, app stores, and data-subject rights is provided in the privacy policy. Where required, privacy consent is obtained separately and may be withdrawn under the rules described there.
16. Changes to these Terms
Material changes will be communicated in due time and clear language. Where renewed consent is legally required or a change materially affects the agreement, express consent will be obtained. Without consent, the previous Terms continue where technically and legally possible and reasonable; otherwise, the agreement may be terminated under statutory and contractual rules.
17. Consumer dispute resolution
The provider is neither required nor currently willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Users may nevertheless contact the provider first at webmaster@kreisundquer.de.
18. Applicable law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice applies only insofar as it does not remove mandatory protection under the law of their habitual residence.
If individual provisions are invalid or do not form part of the agreement, the remainder remains effective and statutory provisions replace the invalid provision.
